For nearly 150 years, the American Bar Association has shaped the legal profession in the United States, establishing ethical standards, influencing legal education, and guiding the evolution of legal practice.
This collection brings that legacy together in a comprehensive digital archive of ABA publications, including both widely distributed works and previously hard-to-access practice materials. Many of these resources were preserved through decades of print and microfiche preservation efforts, helping safeguard materials that were often fragile, scattered, or difficult to locate.
At launch, the collection includes thousands of digitized titles spanning major areas of legal practice, from Business Law and Litigation to Administrative, Family, Criminal, and Labor and Employment Law. Additional materials are currently being digitized, with the full archive expected to reach nearly 9,000 titles upon completion in November 2026.
Built for long-term research and discovery, the collection will continue to grow by approximately 150 titles per year, with a two-year embargo applied to newly published materials.
Together, these publications document how law has been practiced, taught, and developed across generations of the American legal profession.
