New to the Third Edition
For more than a decade, the authors of Multinational Sources Compared have tracked changes in legal publishing. For the Third Edition, they reviewed English-language legal resources published or promulgated since 2021.
The new edition reflects continued growth in comparative monographs, changes in print publishing formats, and the evolving role of global guides and practitioner-written Q&A resources.
It now covers 366 legal subjects, including new areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Economic Sanctions, Misinformation, National Security, Unmanned Aircraft, and Wrongful Conviction.

HOW IT WORKS
Finding the Right Source for Your Research
Winner of the 2018 Foreign, Comparative & International Law Special Interest Section (FCIL-SIS) Award
Finding the right source for multinational legal research can be challenging. Which publication covers your subject? Which jurisdictions are included? Is the resource available in print, online, or both? Multinational Sources Compared helps answer those questions through both a comprehensive print edition and a fully searchable HeinOnline database.
Authors Alena L. Wolotira and Sherry L. Leysen have evaluated English-language legal information resources and organized them by subject and jurisdiction, giving researchers a practical roadmap to relevant comparative and multinational legal materials.
Each entry provides information about a resource’s topical and jurisdictional coverage, while the HeinOnline database can be updated as new resources are added, jurisdictions change, and new subjects emerge.
The authors consulted English-language legal information publishers and sifted through their product offerings.
Publishers include:
- ABA Book Publishing
- Bloomberg BNA
- Cambridge University Press
- Cameron May
- Edward Elgar
- Global Legal Group
- Oxford Univeristy Press

Entries from the previous title included the resource’s title, publisher information, and a description. To enhance the usefulness and function of this resource, the authors expanded the entries to include additional data points, most notably jurisdictions covered. The coverage here is comprehensive. The authors checked tables of contents and publishers’ descriptions, and also reviewed titles that were in print to compile each resource’s jurisdiction list.
Jurisdictions include:

- Economic Sanctions
- Elections
- Gender
